As you might have noticed, I have been on hiatus for a little while. The second half of 2014 was a whirlwind of emotions and I decided that I just did not have it in me to write. Instead, I took those 6 months to evaluate my life, my goals, this blog, and so much more. With that, I have decided to slightly change the direction of Hear with the Heart. The center will always be our journey with hearing loss, but it is not the only thing in our life. Sure it occupies a lot of our time and thoughts, but we have learned so much in the last 2 years that it truly has become the new normal. So the blog might become a little more “lifestyle” and parenting in some areas, but I will always try to keep it updated with hearing loss information, things that have worked well with us, and anything I can find that will help get better medical coverage for the cost of hearing aids.
So what will be these new lifestyle and parenting topics? Well, first we are expecting another little one this Spring! I am already in the 3rd trimester so it will not be a weekly update for the entire pregnancy, but there has been a lot of stuff to share and questions to ask that has happened thus far, from getting big sister ready to thoughts of another child with hearing loss. Addie also started Kindergarten this year and with that comes a lot of proud moments, concerns, and moments of “where did the time go?” She has blossomed into an amazing little girl with so many talents that she wants to explore and while I am not going to turn this blog into post after post of “look what my kid can do,” I am going to relate this back to the bigger picture, how we are moving forward, and how life with hearing loss really isn’t that different.
I hope you all had a great holiday and are enjoying the New Year! Here is to new beginnings and embracing the now!
